Sony Is Still the Giant
With the shortage of Xbox 360 shipments to stores, again Microsoft will lose, inspite of being the number 1 sought-after christmas gift. Consumers will flock to other available systems like the Sony PSP or the Playstation 2, this holiday season. Microsoft hopes to capture the Sony's videogame marketshare, and it will only have four months to do so, before the PS3 release. Only 450,000 Xbox 360 consoles were available on November 22. How does Microsoft expect to steal Sony's storm with such a limited supply? To put the competition into perspective, PS2 sales recently reached 100 Million units sold Worldwide, four years after its debut. But the original Xbox had only sold 22 million units since 2001.
